Canada is home to people from all over the world. One of the main reasons why they choose this great nation is because of the religious freedom guaranteed to all its citizens. This freedom is a constitutionally protected right, allowing them the liberty to believe and worship without limitation or interference. The “Fundamental Freedoms” section of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms states: Everyone has the following fundamental freedoms:
(a) freedom of conscience and religion;
(b) freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression, including freedom of the press and other media of communication;
(c) freedom of peaceful assembly; and
(d) freedom of association.
Therefore all Canadians are free to have their own beliefs and opinions without any fear or intimidation.
