WATCH: Post Brexit Britain and what this change means for the rest of the world.


The British have once again proven that they will not be dictated to by any ‘outsider”. They have defied all warnings and ominous predictions by the so-called ‘experts ‘and have chosen to make a decision to leave EU.

There was a lot of ‘fear mongering’ by the media and the politicians about the uncertainty that would follow. But that has not happened.

The Brexit economy is soaring. In fact, lot, more countries who did not have trade agreements with Britain are now eager to establish stronger economic ties than ever before.
Many people saw ‘to leave EU’ vote as a vote against Globalisation. It is certainly one of the most important reasons because Globalisation did not live up to its promise.
The potential of Globalization was exaggerated. It was orchestrated to somehow ‘increase prosperity in poorer countries and reduce inequality. This was going to reduce the gap between rich and poor. Great concept in a dissertation but in reality it has been just the opposite. Those who opposed the idea were assured that everything would be done in a fair and equitable manner and that people will somehow be able to retain their national pride. But that did not happen.
Fact is people want to feel national pride. And we all know how important that is. Our culture, language, history and language are intricately connected with it.

Anyone who does not understand this feeling, all they have to do is to take a look at the faces of Olympic, athletes. Watch their emotions as they stand on the podium draped in the flag of the country they represent and the national anthem starts. The sight is priceless and athletes train extremely hard for that one moment in time.

With Brexit the British have sent a strong message to the world that they do not want ‘others’ telling them what to do. They want to be in control of their own destiny. They have faith in their own people and have what my guest called a “Churchillian resistance to tyranny’.

By being bold and gutsy the British have given courage to other countries experiencing similar dilemma. Now we have to wait and see who follows their
